My Recipe Tin (www.my-recipetin.com) is run by Patrik Karlsson. Questions or requests about your data: info@my-recipetin.com.
What we keep
- Your account: your e-mail address, and the profile details you add.
- What you add: recipes, photos, collections, ratings, posts and messages.
- For each recipe import: the source you gave (a web address, pasted text or photos), the text we read from it, and the result.
- Records of the AI requests an import makes (model, size, cost, success or failure), used to run and improve the service.
We store this with Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage) in the EU, in Stockholm, Sweden, and run the site on Vercel. To read some web pages you import, we use Firecrawl, which receives only the web address.
How AI processes your recipes
When you import a recipe, we send the recipe content to AI services that turn it into a structured recipe. We send the recipe text: the text of the web page you import, the text you paste, or the text read from the photos you upload. We don’t send your name, e-mail address or account ID with it.
- Venice.ai receives the recipe text and passes it to OpenAI, whose GPT model extracts the recipe. Venice’s terms say that it doesn’t store the text, that it doesn’t tell OpenAI who we or you are, and that it requires the AI providers it uses not to train on your content. OpenAI’s terms say that it doesn’t use this data to train its models, and that it may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse, or longer if the law requires it.
- Mistral AI (France) reads the text in uploaded recipe photos, checks that imported content is a recipe, links ingredients to steps, powers the AI fixes and re-extraction on the review page, checks that uploaded photos are suitable, and takes over recipe extraction when Venice is unavailable. Mistral’s terms say that it may keep requests for up to 30 days to monitor abuse.
- Venice.ai also creates AI cover images when you ask for one, from a short description built from the recipe’s title and ingredient names.
Venice and OpenAI are based in the United States, so recipe text sent to them leaves the EU.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser also keeps a little data on your device, such as your progress in cook mode. It stays on your device.
Deleting your account
You can ask for your account to be deleted under Settings → Account. Deleting your account deletes your private recipes, collections, posts, ratings, import history and AI request records. Recipes you made public stay on the site with their photos, shown as by “Deleted user”, without your name. Messages you sent stay in the other person’s conversation, shown as from “Deleted user”. Reports you filed are kept without your name. Photo files you uploaded are not yet removed automatically: write to us and we will delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, and to correct or delete it, by writing to info@my-recipetin.com. You can also download your data yourself under Settings → Account. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the data-protection authority in your country.
Changes
We will update this page when we change how your data is handled.
